All things vengeful and Carmen...

Rich people get away with murder every day, but Vivian Foster intends to make billionaire Javier Rivera pay for what he did to her best friend—and how better to destroy a money-grubbing bastard than to sabotage the merger that means everything to him.

But the closer Javier gets to Vivian, the more he wants her, and the more time she spends with him, the less she believes he could ever be a killer. Now Vivian and Javier have to discover the truth…and Vivian has to win the trust of her worst enemy.

Javier Rivera would never hurt a woman much less kill one. But when he catches a gorgeous corporate spy in his office, he knows he can’t let her go—not when even a hint of scandal could ruin his career. Until the merger is signed, he’ll keep her close, even if he has to shackle her to his wrist. Literally.

Did that wet your appetite for some sizzling romance or what?! Keep reading for a chance to win a free copy of Carmen's debut book, A Vengeful Affair!

Today I'm really pleased to welcome the lovely Carmen Falcone to my cosy blog spot! So, lets get to know her a little better....

****
Carmen Falcone learned at an early age that fantasizing about fictional characters and places beat doing Math homework any day. She traveled the world, achieved a B.A. in Tourism in her hometown in Brazil and was soon invited to work in the USA, where she met her Swiss husband. She’d always dreamed of becoming a published writer, and after her daughter was born, she revisited that dream of writing – this time, unwilling to give it up. She lives in Austin and enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family and three high energy pugs.

****

Firstly, BIG congratulations on the release of A Vengeful Affair published by Entangled.

Thank you so much, Sam! Thanks for having me.

Your hero, Spanish Tycoon Javier Rivera, sounds quite the hunk. Tell us a bit more about him….

Oh, Javier… If you like Alpha heroes, you’ll love Javier. HOT, of course, and very focused on getting things his way, but he also has a vulnerable side to him, which he doesn’t show often. An Alpha hero with a twist.

….And your feisty heroine, Vivian Foster sounds a confident match for Javier! What inspired you to create Vivian? Is she based upon anybody you know, or is she purely from your imagination?

She is purely my imagination. I love Vivian. She lies to Javier, she sneaks into his office, she plots to destroy him… and all for good reason, of course! I’ve always wanted to write a strong heroine, someone who could really stand up to the hero and make him feel powerless at times. Vivian is a strong, compelling heroine you will root for.

When did you first realise you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve always dreamed of becoming an author. But only a couple of years ago I started to act on it.

Do you have any interest in writing other genres or is romance your thang?

Romance is totally my thing. Guilty as charged ;)

How does it now feel to be living the dream as a published writer?

Surreal. I mean, a friend asked me the other day, “Isn’t it weird that everyone reads your story?” It’s not. It’s flattering and humbling at the same time. I feel special I can share my passion with them, and humbled I was lucky enough to do it. But the struggles aren’t different from when I wasn’t published. Everything is so new, I still have a lot to learn. And I’m good with that.

You’re a translator by day, right? What languages do you speak?

Yes, I translate English into Brazilian Portuguese for airlines, hotel groups and travel agencies.  Growing up I’ve learned Spanish and French.

What does the future hold for Carmen Falcone? Do you have any more stories up your sleeve soon for release?

I have a couple of stories, and I hope to be able to share them soon. It’s hard because I thought once I got published, I would have everything figured out. As if! I was so naïve… *sighes*

Some quick trivial questions…

Shoot!

What’s your favourite book? “Blackwolfe’s Redemption” by Sandra Marton.

Favourite film? A few! I love “Il Postino”, “As Good as it Gets,” “Babel,” “Dirty Dancing.” I watch everything, from chick-flicks to hardcore independent films. I love European cinema.

Fav food? Italian! My mom’s side of the family is Italian, so there you go. Never go against the family *Don Corleone accent* LOL.

Fav place in the world? Rio de Janeiro.

If someone gave you ten million pounds tomorrow, what would you do with it?

Wow… that’s crazy money. Especially in pounds, since your currency is so strong J I would move into a bigger house, with a bigger office. But I would definitely use some of it for causes I strongly believe in, like the fight against domestic violence and child abuse. I feel strongly about the no h8  campaign. Equality for all. And no, I’m not running for public office or anything. (LOVE your answer!)

Six Sentence Sunday...

Hi all

Here is my six sentence sunday for this week.... Hope you enjoy!

“She’s absoloutly fine. A few weeks early, but we are generally happy once the mother reaches the thirty six week mile stone. The NeoNatal nurses and consultant have checked her over and there is no need for any special care. She just needs lots of love and nurturing.”
Daniella nodded unable to speak.
“He hasn’t left your side you know, from the minute he arrived at the Antonio Arnildo until just this second, Luca has been right beside you with this little one.”
